In that emotional atmosphere, our group – a few young friends love to explore and love the old things – invite each other to wander around the streets. Do not look for famous places, but choose a separate path through small corners, where Hanoi appears gentle and quiet, as if waiting for someone to stop listening.
The companion on the “past travel” this time is the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G that I just bought. The most interesting thing about this machine is the circular feature to search, when you just need to take pictures where you visit and who will automatically answer you all the information you need.
We started the journey at Dinh Le street that was so familiar to the people of Hanoi. Turn into the tiny alley dark at 5 Dinh Le, cross the corridor, climb to the second floor of the dormitory and another world appears: The Rabbit Bookstore, small but outstanding among the old collective space, surrounded by green trees, like an oasis appearing in the stifling heat of the early summer afternoon.
The bookstore space is not spacious, but everywhere is filled with books, arranged to the ceiling, to the loft. Old wood prices covered from children’s stories to classical literature. The light lights on the small folding chairs, sometimes just a few low tables, the smell of old paper and the sound of the book flipped softly makes anyone entering and being kept by a peaceful thing that is difficult to call. Someone skimmed, some people sat down on the floor to search, some people did not buy anything but kept wandering around forever.
My friend said that he had come here many years ago, when he was a student, and took a souvenir photo in the right corner of that old wooden stairs. This time, you want to take a similar picture and then adjust the color of the image so that the old picture is like the old picture. Often this is quite hard, must choose the filter, adjust the light, color accordingly. But with the Galaxy A56 5G, just a simple operation: Create a Filter with AI from the original image. After less than a minute, the new photo was old, as if the time was actually turned back.
From the Rabbit bookstore, we followed the Lake of Sword Lake, heading towards Gia Ngu and then crossing the middle alley lying in the crowded shops. The small entrance to the lane, connected from Dinh Liet Street to Hang Bac, seemed to have nothing outstanding but kept the familiarity of the old Hanoi. Even on both sides of the alley are pavement shops, old houses with modern and modern, there are apartments hanging paper lanterns, there are places to display a few bonsai pots in front of the door. Here, we can see the simple features of Hanoi blending into the modern life of the new shops and hotels, welcoming tourists from everywhere.
The familiar corner of the lane is a si si soup noodle shop that has been open for decades. No sophisticated signs, the space is just a few walls close to the wall and in the house less than 10m2 but always crowded. The hot bowl of noodles, the famous crispy yellow fish rolls, the broth that tastes, the fragrance spreads to an entire alley, just go through is naturally wanting to sit down to call enough a combo of fish noodles – meat rolls – iced tea to rest assured to stand up.
Lane Trung Yen is not a tourist destination, nor on the list of places to check-in. But for Hanoi people, this is one of the places that can visit anytime to find the old life rhythm, and to remember that this city always has small corners with me like that.
In the middle of the bustling street, the house number 87 Ma May quietly kept the breath of Hanoi. Built in the late nineteenth century and conservation is almost intact, this is a typical example of the traditional tube house of Trang An people: long, narrow, deep, with the yard in the wind and in series. Mossy mold tile roofs, exquisitely carved wooden frames, simple but sophisticated decorations. Each small corner reflects the lifestyle of the past time.
Stepping through the dark wooden door over the years, we seem to return to another world – more slowly and softer. Those who have come here bring a little recovery, because Hanoi in that house is not only an image but also a vivid memory, an emotion that is difficult to call every time when his heart suddenly remembered the old town.
Take a check -in photography here, but because it is in the middle of the crowded street, it is impossible to avoid the redundant details. For example, the photo below, for example, my friend wants to erase those who appear in the photo, and the Galaxy A56 5G has handled “delicious”, reproducing very real details, if not carefully looking at it, it will not realize that the image has passed “patchwork”.
Leaving the heritage house, we took a leisurely walk to Phat Loc lane – a small way from Hang Be, through Luong Ngoc Quyen and had 2 turns to Nguyen Huu Huan and Tran Nhat Duat. This alley is famous not because of any great work, but because it is like a film roll slowly about the old Hanoi life.
Although not as intact as decades ago, Phat Loc still retains the soul of a pure Hanoi. It is famous for its ancient houses for a hundred years, keeping the lifestyle of the ancient Hanoi. There are families who lived in some generations, there were old men and women still sweeping leaves in the gate every day, washing, cooking in the tiny yard. Now, Phat Loc is also “waving” with crowded shops, vehicles sending a segment of the alley. Sometimes, this alley also becomes “disturbed” because it is too crowded, but every citizen lives in harmony, affection, and knowing how to divide the business so that everyone can make a living.
Some people say that Phat Loc is a small underground circuit flowing through the old town’s heart, taking people from memories to reality without a introduction. Here, Hanoi appears not painted, unobtrusive, simply itself – old, cramped but full of love and extremely likable.
The last stop in our journey is Nguyen Quang Bich Street – where the life rhythm is still slow as if it had never been caught up in urban reels. Not many vehicles traveling, no noisy, the streets carrying the quiet beauty, dotted are ancient houses, mossy moss walls, dark color over the years.
The special thing is that these days, a street seemed to wake up in brilliant red. The red flag of the yellow star is like a new shirt wearing old memories. The atmosphere to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the reunification of the country was filled with the very gentle character in Hanoi. No need for sophisticated props, just a simple outfit, standing under the flag flags in the wind is enough to create a Vietnamese image. Because of that, Nguyen Quang Bich is becoming one of the most popular check-in venues for young people this season.
Throughout the journey to explore the old Hanoi corners, we also enlisted to visit some cafes that many young people pay attention to this batch thanks to the brilliant decoration to celebrate the April 30. Toka Coffee Stand is neatly located in the 3b Dang Thai Than Street, gentle with old walls, climbing flower platforms and red flag rope. Ro Coffee on Hang Ma street feels like not about the years of “one thousand nine hundred days”, with brilliant gold paints, wooden tables and chairs and paintings, banners, anti -resistance decorations. The shelter in Trung Tien is completely separate from the city, the villa space is hundreds of m2 but extremely quiet to “chill” by the pool and take beautiful check-in photos.
Places like this is ideal for taking photos to keep emotions, but the Galaxy A56 5G I bring with you “` `unthinkable”: From the super wide shooting angle to capture the entire depth of the narrow alleys to the ability of 2x zoom is still clear thanks to the high quality 50MP sensor, and the excess details in the background are easily blurred by portraits. Especially, my group of friends could not hide the excitement of the unique “beautiful portrait” feature. Specifically, after shooting, the machine allows the most beautiful face to be selected in the photo so that everyone is radiant, no longer a beautiful person a person … turning off a smile because he has not made a figure but accidentally clicked the shoot.
The trip ended when it started dark. Each person saved hundreds of photos, a few clips, but the most out of the feeling of loving this city. Hanoi not only has Ho Guom or old town. Hanoi is also every step of wooden stairs, each wall peeling wall, each familiar voice sounded in the morning. And when we spend a day to slow down, watch, listen, Hanoi will tell us a very long, very beautiful, and lovely story.
