Gigabyte U4 laptop is a laptop from the Gigabyte brand that impresses with its weight of 990gr with Intel Core i5-1155G7 configuration, 16GB RAM. This laptop is expected by the technology world quite a lot. Let’s review the new rookie of Gigabyte in detail!

Modern design with super light weight

The weight is really what impresses me the most about this laptop. There are many laptops on the market with similar weights, but with a price tag of over 15 million VND, this is one of the rare laptops.

The weight of the Gigabyte U4 laptop is under 1kg, exactly 990gr, you can completely lift it with one hand. If compared to the Ultrabooks I have reviewed, this is really an impressive laptop. The thickness is 16.5cm – just a little thicker than a textbook. You can completely put it in your backpack and easily carry it. Although impressive in thickness and weight, this laptop has a fairly simple design, if not bland. We only have a part of the back with the main gray tone, made of Magnesium, so it brings a cooler and more durable feeling than other materials such as plastic or aluminum. In the middle is the Gigabyte logo, bringing a simple, sophisticated overall look.

Another plus point is that the device has full connection ports. Although it is thin, Gigabyte does not “sacrifice” any connection ports. It still has full USB A, USB C, HDMI ports, headphone jack, SD card reader, etc.

Overall, the laptop’s design is relatively simple, but in return, its super light weight still makes a big impression on me.

Review of the configuration and performance that the Gigabyte U4 laptop brings

Gigabyte’s U4 laptop has an Intel Core i5-1155G7 configuration, 4 cores and 8 threads. I rate this processor quite highly. Many people think that multiple cores and threads like 6 cores and 12 threads are good for processing, but in fact, that’s not the case. This 4-core, 8-thread processor handles office tasks smoothly.

The default RAM of the machine is 16GB DDR4 3200MH, storage capacity 512GB SSD NVMe PCIe 4.0. It can be said that Gigabyte has really taken care of its laptops, most of Gigabyte’s laptop models when shipped have a minimum RAM of 16GB. Compared to other machines in the same segment, Gigabyte offers a pretty good RAM capacity. This RAM capacity greatly supports the working process, smoothly balancing office tasks. Revealing one thing is that this is one of the first laptops equipped with 512GB SSD NVMe PCIe 4.0.

But one thing I don’t appreciate is the battery life of this laptop. If used for office tasks, this laptop can only be used for about 2 hours, if compared to competitors in the same segment, this is a pretty big minus point.

14 inch screen is enough to meet basic needs

This ultrabook has a 14-inch screen – enough for use. Personally, this screen is quite okay for use. With 300 nits brightness, 72% NTSC color coverage, 100% sRGB and 75% DCI-P3, it provides a good experience compared to other ultrabooks. The 300 nits brightness provides a pretty good screen for outdoor work.

If used for simple graphic design, watching movies for entertainment or office tasks, this screen is quite good.

The Gigabyte U4 impressed me with its weight and slim design. It comes with a great configuration for the price range. This laptop not only handles office tasks smoothly but also handles some simple games quite well. You can consider it because at this price, I highly appreciate this laptop.
