Before the Earth’s Day 2025, Apple announced a 60% reduction in global greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2015, partly in the plan to neutralize the entire value chain by 2030.

The information stated in Apple’s environmental process report. The report also said that the company has used 99% of rare soil elements recycled in all product magnets and 99% of her recycled patterns in the battery designed by Apple.
According to Apple, the company’s environmental strategy aims to cut 75% of greenhouse gas emissions before compensating for the rest with high quality carbon credits. Over the past year, measures such as converting power supply in the supply chain to regenerate and enhance the use of recycled materials have helped Apple reduce an additional 41 million tons of emissions.
Currently, 17.8 Electrical Gigawatts are being used in the company’s supply chain. This energy reduces 21.8 million tons of emissions in 2024, an increase of 17% compared to the previous year. In addition, nearly 2 million tons of emissions are reduced by improving the efficiency of energy use at suppliers.

Apple also said there were 26 semiconductor suppliers and all the screen partners committed to at least 90% of F-GHG gas, a high-intensity greenhouse gas, by 2030. This year, these commitments helped reduce about 8.4 million tons of emissions.
The company continues to expand the use of recycled and regenerated materials in the product. In early 2025, Apple aims to use 100% rare soil elements recycled in magnets and 100% of her recycling in the battery of new products.
At the same time, Apple’s “Waste” program has helped suppliers handle 600,000 tons of garbage in 2024, bringing the total number to 3.6 million tons since 2015. Some solutions include recycling transport trays, product protection films and precious metal recovery from industrial waste.

Apple also said that the new MacBook Air series has more than 55% of the ingredients made from recycled materials, the highest rate ever in its products. Products such as Mac Mini and Apple Watch neutralized carbon version are also introduced as part of the effort to cut emissions from materials, energy and transportation.
Since 2013, Apple and partners have saved more than 90 billion Gallon freshwater through the program “Clean water for suppliers”, with 2024 in particular, 14 billion gallon. Apple’s goal is to compensate for 100% of the water used in serious water shortages by 2030, which has now reached more than 40% of the plan.
To respond to Earth’s Day 22/4, Apple has implemented environmental awareness activities such as giving special training badges for Apple Watch users, sharing environmental theme content on Apple TV+, and updating environmentally friendly collections on the tip application.
